In "Twilight," dreamy vampire Edward (winning British actor Robert Pattinson, missing an upper lip) falls for Bella (Kristen Stewart, also good), a new student shipped from Phoenix to live with her father in the small town of Forks, Wash.
"Twilight" might have been the most successful show ever on the CW network, a fitting companion piece to "Supernatural," with its attractive leads, high school setting, snappy dialogue and lack of big stars.

There is an undeniable genius to keeping the action as tame as it can possibly be in order to secure a family friendly MPAA rating; in this case, "Twilight" garnered a PG-13 when, in reality, a PG would have sufficed.

Twilight" is a film of intelligent strengths and easily avoidable weaknesses, a modest film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's publishing phenomenon.

Shabbily edited and suffering from Hardwicke's compositional ineptitude, "Twilight" is reduced to a poorly contained unintentional joke.
However deafening the hype, I found "Twilight" to be a rotten movie, yet the blame for the failure of this tween sleeping pill doesn't completely point toward Meyer's imagination, but Hardwicke's thundering screen cluelessness instead.
